Hello there, I'm Ashley.

My name is Ashley Neall, and I'm a graduate student at MIT and Electrical Engineering NSF Graduate Research Fellow. My research co-designs computational imaging, rendering, and display paradigms for multimodal sensation and perception. I am broadly interested in building intelligent systems that empower people through efficiency and interactivity.


I completed my undergraduate studies and honors thesis at UNC-Chapel Hill in Computer Science (B.S.), Neuroscience, and Applied Engineering. Throughout 4+ years of research with Dr. Henry Fuchs, I led projects at the intersection of computer graphics, optics, applied physiology, and extended reality (XR) systems.

Alongside undergraduate research, I also led Carolina AR/VR as President for 4 years and Intercollegiate XR as Co-President. My passion for research and outreach began in high school, where I created Apex Immersive – the first XR student organization in North Carolina's largest public school system. My leadership endeavors led me to revitalize Carolina AR/VR as a freshman in college and dive into research.
